             Life on the Water  The Spirit of Fishing on Lake Victoria



When the sun rises over Lake Victoria, the air is filled with songs, laughter, and the gentle splash of oars cutting through the water.
For the fishermen of Dunga, Usenge, and Got Agulu, fishing is more than a job it is a way of life, a tradition passed from fathers to sons, and a prayer answered each morning.

The boats glide softly on the lake’s surface, carrying dreams of a good catch tilapia, omena, and nile perch. As the nets come up heavy with fish, there’s a chorus of joy. Women wait by the shore, ready to sort, dry, and sell the fish that will feed families and fill markets.

For visitors, this is a sight to behold the rhythm of life beside Africa’s largest lake.
You can take a walk by the beach, chat with the fishermen, taste freshly grilled fish, or join a boat ride at sunset.

The people are warm, the view is golden, and every wave tells a story.
This is not just fishing  it’s the soul of the Dala.
